2007 MadFish Gold Turtle Tempranillo Reviews

The fascinating personality of tempranillo is captured well in this Western Australian red. Sarsaparilla, cherry and mint-like aromatics have a chocolatey overlay, and there?s light to medium intensity of succulent flavour. It has an attractive, slightly grainy texture and balanced tannins. Drink over two years.

Cherry style top notes with a savoury undercurrent. Delicious.

Once again, MadFish has turned up a surprising wine. Clean, aromatic, fruit-driven and stylish, it smells of cherry, plum and mint, while it has lashings of flavour in the mouth, underlined by ample but not harsh tannins. The structure's in balance with the generous flavour.

This is something new from Howard Park. A medium-weight wine made from this increasingly popular Spanish variety. This opens with a lifted bramble cedary aroma displaying traces of fine dusty earth. The palate is dry and savoury with an almost arid finish that is so good for matching with food.
