2004 MadFish Premium White Reviews

This delightful and well-priced wine will please many palates and will complement a wide variety of foods. It has all the positive attributes of Chardonnay, such as generous flavours and good palate weight, without burning alchohol, complicating oak or excessive butteriness. Fresh citrus flavours, notably grapefruit, dominate the palate. It complements rather than detracts from a meal and suits a wide range of occasions. Buy and drink with confidence.

Elegant; quite intense nectarine/citrus fruit; outstanding example of unwooded chardonnay. Drink now.

Pale gold. Aromas of talc, mint, Granny Smith apple, white peach and jasmine. Dry and firm on the palate, with flavours of juicy pear, apple, honey and fennel. Finishes clean, brisk and vibrant.

Fresh melon, peaches and figs fill the nose and the mouth. There is some hint of lemon peel and nougat. A long, balanced and flavoursome wine with an abundance of acid

Well, wouldn?t you be mad if you were frolicking happily away underwater and somebody pulled you to the surface with a hook through your bottom lip? The wine?s good by the way ? made by the really rather high-class Howard Park folks, in what was a pretty good year down there in the bottom left-hand corner. It?s a fresh, exotic blend?and so eager to have you drink it, it practically leaps out of the class.

Palate and nose is complex with many layers of fruit flavours and a clean fine structure ? riper fruit characteristics balance well with leaner, elegant citrus flavours.

THE MadFish label has taken the wine world by storm and much of this has to do with its simple honesty. Here is a 90/10 blend of chardonnay and verdelho that works well and is deliciously good. It is fresh on the nose and the beautifully balanced palate offers a fruit salad of white stone fruit and citrus flavours. It's a wine to enjoy with spring sunshine and a good mate
