2001 MadFish Chardonnay Reviews

Tasting these truly excellent wines you would barely know that they are the second labels of Howard Park. The 2001 MadFish Chardonnay comes from three vineyards in Denmark, Porongurup and Margaret River regions, the palate has masses of nectarines, melons and cashew fruit complemented by sure oak handling, perfect balance and length.

Fresh, bouncing, pure chardonnay with a thrillingly citric, spicy, melony profile that clearly aims to over-deliver at the price. The perfect drink-now chardonnay. Drink: Now.

...A quality wine.... The palate combines a nutty stone fruit richness with some tart and crunchy grapefruit acidity to balance. The oak is subdued but adds some palate character.Winemaker Michael Kerrigan has used fruit from Denmark, the Porongurups and Margaret River and worked with new and used French oak. No malo but plenty of lees stirring has added complexity and lovely mouth feel and texture.
