2001 MadFish Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Reviews

Open peppery, licorice, blackberry nose with an undercurrent of earth and a touch of bell pepper. Savoury, spicy, black cherry, cassis flavours mark the palate with dry, coffee, cedar notes in the finish. Light tannins, a touch of green herbs and good acidity signal a cool maritime climate. A sound and easy drinking red designed for food.

These wines exhibit the glorious fruit that can be obtained in Australia.Another winner is the blend of 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cabernet Franc. A gorgeously textured, ripe, fruity medium-bodied wine, it exhibits more structure, spice box, tobacco and cedar as well as black currant notes. Drink it over the next 2-3 years.
