Andy Browning
Denmark Winemaker

Andy BrowningAndy Browning is our winemaker at the Denmark winery in the Great Southern.

Andy's passion for wine began when he started working in a vineyard in the Swan Valley in 1994. From this first introduction his interest was ignited and so to his journey to becoming a winemaker.  Following his stint in the Swan Valley he sought an international experience and he moved to the Paarl region of the South West Cape of South Africa and began work as a vineyard manager at Backsberg Estate Winery, before returning to Australia and gaining experience with Houghton Wines, Chestnut Grove and Plantagenet Wines. To formalise his experience, Andy obtained a bachelor of Management in Horticulture and an Associate Degree in Viticulture before studying winemaking at Charles Sturt University.

In 2003, Andy moved to MadFish’s Denmark Winery to become our winemaker.

Andy has long had an affinity with the Great Southern and enjoys the numerous activities the region has to offer. He can be seen cruising the streets on his prized Ducati ST4 motorbike, rock fishing the southern coastline for that catch of the day, scampering the walk trails of the Stirling or Porongurup ranges. Andy also enjoys his music, history and cooking.

Recently Andy and his wife Elle have extended the MadFish family with the addition their new son William.

Andy's enthusiasm and love of wine, family and life is a perfect match to MadFish Wines.
